2000 Degrees & Bang Bang

Somewhere between 1400 and 2012 degrees is where the magic happens. Heat allows steel to convert into a hard and useful tool. If not austentized, quenched and tempered properly, the blade will not hold a sharp edge. I heat treat all my blades in an oven specifically made for knife making.

-320 DEGREES

Cryogenic treatment. This vital step helps refine the steel composition to ensure the best quality knife.

BLADE

After the bang-bang stage, and the heat and cryogenic treatments, I wind up at my grinder. At this point, I fine tune the details of the tool. I start connecting all the “geometry dots;” at this stage, I am close to my final product.

FINISH

This is the part I love the most. After hours of agonizing over the process, I arrive here and start seeing it all come together. All the beauty really starts POPPING.
